Can we see the water from our cottage?    BACK The Moors is surrounded on 3 sides by water.  You can see the water from just about anywhere on the resort.  Some units are closer to the water than others.  See the Resort Map for cottage locations. Do you allow extra housekeeping at an additional charge?    BACK Unfortunately, no.  Our staffing is based on our everyday needs and we do not have extra help.  The lodge rooms are freshened daily.  Cottages are cleaned before arrival and after departure.  Fresh towels are provided daily to all guests.  We will provide fresh bed linens upon request. Do lodge rooms have coffee pots, microwaves or refrigerators?    BACK No, there is no cooking permitted in the lodge.  There is coffee available in the Great Room, when not reserved.  Otherwise, we have a full service restaurant on the premises.  Our cottages do have fully equipped kitchens. Is it safe to let our children go alone with the recreation staff?  What type of activities do they do?    BACK It is safe for children to go with the Recreation Staff, however, if parents feel       uncomfortable with that arrangement, they are more than welcome to come along to watch or join in.  Our Recreation Directors are not lifeguards or babysitters.  The directors do a lot of different activities.  Scavenger hunts, miniature golf tournaments, volleyball games, sand castle contests, water balloon toss, tie-dying t-shirts, face painting – you never know what they may come up with.  Raining?  We do crafts indoors.  Too hot to play?  We’ll play pool games.  There’s always something to do here at Moors!  Is Marshall County a dry county?    BACK Yes it is, which means you can not purchase alcohol within the county.  You may bring alcohol with you and we ask that you consume alcohol in a responsible manner.  You can buy liquor in Paducah, which is about 30 minutes away. How far away are grocery stores?    BACK The closest grocery stores are located in Draffenville, which is about 10 miles from the resort.  There is a Super Wal-Mart in Benton, which is about 15 miles away.  Our Marina also stocks a limited selection of groceries such as hot dogs, buns, coffee, etc. Where is the nearest hospital?    BACK Marshall County Hospital is in Benton, which is about 15 miles away. There are two hospitals in Paducah, and they are about a 30 drive. Is there a place to fish without having a boat?    BACK Yes, may fish almost anywhere around our shoreline.  There’s over a mile of shoreline at Moors. When is your Marina open?    BACK Typically from March 31st until October 31st and the operating hours vary around sun up to sunset.  The Marina can also be of service during off-season.  Please call the office and let them know your needs so they can arrange for someone to be on hand. Do you rent boat slips?    BACK Yes.  They are covered and have electricity.  A single slip rents for $10.00 per night.  If your boat is more than 9 ft wide, you will need a double slip for $20.00 per night.  Call the marina directly at 270-362-1410 to reserve an overnight slip.
