Fishing Report
Hello to all of our fishing friends and lake lovers! Don, Eric, and I want to thank all of you who have visited Moors Resort and fished with us at any time this year. We have enjoyed getting to meet all of you and the time we spent on the water. Getting to take people fishing and just talking to the people that visit the resort is so enjoyable, and is a daily reminder of just how many good people there are in the world we live in.
The recent weather has not been too bad. I would call it typical for this time of year. Today, we are having thunderstorms and a prediction of maybe one to two inches of rain before the day is over. Following the storms it looks like through Saturday the temperatures will be in the lower 80's, but sunny. Sunday's forecast calls for a pretty good chance of some morning thunderstorms with the same type of temperatures.
The only species we have been chasing is catfish and white and yellow bass. We have been catching a few cats while we are fishing for whites and yellows. Two days last week, I spent some time catfishing and found a couple of spots where the channels and blues were pretty thick. They both bit shrimp.
We had a good run for about seven days where we caught the white bass real good, but recently we seem to just pick up some occasionally mixed in with the yellows. The yellow bass bite has been pretty good most days. Every day is different, and you just have to go looking. That would be why it is called fishing. We are still targeting river bends, islands, and the mouths of major creeks. Jigging spoons and rooster tails are what we have been having our luck on.
If you have not visited Moors Resort, give yourself a break, and hustle on over whether you fish or not. September and October offer some of the most pleasant weather and boating opportunities. We are still seeing the osprey every day, and before long, the leaves will start taking on the fall colors. Don't miss out on what the resort and area has to offer. Once again, a big thanks to all of our customers and patrons of Moors Resort! Be sure to get on the Moors Facebook page, and check out some of the recent catches we have been able to make. Be safe, God bless, and we hope to see you soon!
