Feel At Home When You're Away...
bottom of page
Greetings to all of you Kentucky Lake and fishing enthusiasts out there! Don, Eric, and myself hope all of you have been well since our last report, and the month of June has been treating each of you well. We also hope all of the dads had a great Fathers Day!
While fishing we have mainly been in pursuit of both White and Yellow Bass. These species seem to be providing the best action for our customers and are quite tasty critters. While we have been still taking good numbers of Yellows the White Bass have been scattered. We are still catching a few but not like we had been. With an increase in current flow maybe we will be able to get back on them. While looking for these fish we usually pick up some catfish and bass in the process to get an additional tug on the line. We are still finding our fish around the mouths of major bays and creeks, and along the old Tennessee River channel and submerged islands. Our fish are coming on Kens hybrid spinners and jigging spoons.
I did spend some time fishing specifically for catfish this week and was able to capture a few fishing shrimp in 24 to 40 feet of water out on the river channel. A guide friend of ours has been working them over really well using the same bait and fishing from 20 to 35 feet deep. He had a really nice catch of both channels and blues Tuesday. Eric ventured out last Saturday and spent some time crappie fishing. He caught 30 with 10 of those being keepers. He said the throwbacks were all about nine and three quarters long which has me excited about the upcoming fall season. All of his fish came on minnows over our deep brush piles in bays and out on the main lake.
For those of you that have not been able to visit the Lakes area and Moors Resort now is the time to do so. Summer is in full swing, and there is a lot to do here even if you do not boat or fish. Moors resort has everything a person needs while you enjoy your free time. Some of those being a full service marina, two launching ramps, restaurant and bar, beach, pool, and playground just to mention a few . Land Between the Lakes is a short drive and sports several attractions for the family. The entire area has many things to offer people of all ages so come check it out. For any of you that would like to get out on the water give us a call. My cell is 270-331-3519, and Don's is 270-559-1366. I personally have openings on June 27,28,and 29. We have lots of available dates in July. I promise we will do our best to put you on some fish and show you a good time.
In closing the three of us want to extend a big thanks to all of the people that have fished with us at anytime this year or in years past! We always look forward to getting to see people we have fished with over the years, and meeting new people, and making new friends. There truly are a lot of wonderful people in this world, and I have been fortunate to have made a lot of great friends over the years that I have been involved with the Guide Service.
